The Purpose of the job: The main role is to act as a deputy or proxy product owner over one or more products, the deputy product owner assists the Head of the Business Unit in day-to-day tasks, acting as the voice of the stakeholders including the end user, translating their needs to stories headlines according the given roadmap. He / She will work closely with the Head of Business Unit and the rest of the team to hand-over the well documented features in order to be ready to be developed by the Tech team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain excellent communication channels with all stakeholders (internally / externally).
- Act as a single point of contact for the products in the absence of the Head of the Business Unit.
- Assist and support the Head of BU on the overall strategic roadmap to build innovative solutions and support business objectives.
- Convey enthusiasm for products, leading the rest of the Business Units members to understand the meaning behind the features and acting as a motivating force.
- Filtering / categorizing the stakeholders’ inquiries and suggestions.
- Defining the minimum viable product and feature set.
- Create the features documentation.
- Undertake research to define user needs.
- Conduct meetings to gather the information needed to complete the scope.
- Hand over and delegate tasks to other BU members in order to achieve work in parallel and commit to the deadlines.
- Work within a cross-functional BU team to ensure the solutions meet business and stakeholder’s needs.
- Consistently and effectively communicate progress against the roadmap to the management, raising risks as necessary.
- Announce and deliver the features to stakeholders and conduct proper training/documents if needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor (or above) in computer science, information systems, or related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience (PO, PM, or Business analyst).
- In-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principles.
- Creative thinker.
- Management of stakeholders and their expectations.
- Fluency in English (written and oral).
- Outstanding presentation and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- The ability to build strong working relationships with a wide and diverse range of team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to plan ahead but reassess workloads and priorities if situations change or people are facing conflicting demands.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Familiar with software project management tools such Jira / Trello.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment thriving under pressure.
